## Description

To support the Aarhus City Council's goal to lead the way in the green transition and create a CO2 neutral society by 2030, Kredsløb is planning to establish a CO2 capture plant to capture the flue gas from the entire Lisbjerg plant, consisting of four separate plants, three which are used for the processing of collected waste from (mainly) Aarhus, and one which is used for the processing of biomass (mostly straw). The CO2 capture project will form a natural and necessary part of Kredsløb's ordinary activities, which includes production and distribution of electricity and district heating primarily to citizens in Aarhus Municipality and the contract will include both establishment of CO2 Capture plant as well as heat integration for utilizing the heat from the process in the existing district heat net. In connection with the project, Kredsløb has now initiated the preparation of a tender for the establishment of the CO2 capture plant including heat integration including necessary heat pumps to accommodate to the district heat discharge temperature. The tender is expected to be launched in December 2023. The purpose of this prior information notice is to inform market players about the existence and overall features of the upcoming tender and encourage market players to consider relevant cooperations in relation to the tender. As part of the project Kredsløb is currently initiating the preparation of the tender for a FIDIC (yellow) based agreement concerning establishing a CO2 capture plant as well as heat integration in Lisbjerg in Denmark. Kredsløb is preparing to tender a mechanical and electrical EPC contract, which includes a complete functional CO2 capture plant with capture plant, CO2 compressor plant, heat integration/heat pumps and all necessary ancillary systems, but excluding construction work . The CO2 capture plant must be based on a post-combustion, liquid-based absorption process. Kredsløb expects to prequalify applicants that represent different technologies within liquid-based absorption processes (for instance technologies using amines or HPC respectively) to improve the competition. The CO2 capture plant is expected to be in (full) operation by 1st of January 2029. Kredsløb expects that the tender will include a FEED process allowing tenderers to develop a solution for Kredsløb's plant during the tender. Kredsløb acknowledges that participation in a FEED process will be time consuming for the tenderers and therefore Kredsløb expects to compensate tenderers economically for their participation in the tender. Further details about compensation will be given in the tender material. The tender will be carried out as a competitive procedure with negotiation. Kredsløb expects to launch the tender in December 2023.
