Acquisition of a Hamilton Microlab STAR Liquid Handler

The purchase is to add an additional automated liquid handler to the already existing installation in the Proteomics Research Infrastructure (PRI) at the University of Copenhagen. This procurement addresses the growing need for sample preparation in user projects, particularly focusing on high-throughput clinical proteomics analyses. Lab automation system based on the HAMILTON ML STAR liquid handling workstation. The system is equipped with 8x 1000 μl channels, a 96 multi probe pipetting head (MPH), an on-deck positive pressure unit (MPE2), an on-deck cooling carrier with Cryostat, a 2D bottom barcode reader (EasyCode), an 1D side barcode reader (Orbit Reader), as well as various plate carriers and adaptors. • Shipment and On-site Installation • Method implementation by Application Specialists Functionality: The system needs to run established methods for the large-scale preparation of biological samples for mass-spectrometry based proteomics analysis.
