In August 2019, the Nordic Council of Ministers agreed on Vision 2030 to become the most sustainable and integrated region in the world by 2030. The work of MR-DIGITAL on delivering frictionless digital services already supports the integration of the region.Digital technologies are critical enablers for achieving Vision 2030 and the sustainable development goals in many different sectors.MR-DIGITAL will explore how digital technologies such as artificial intelligence, 5G, cloud and new data-based technologies can accelerate and maximise the impact of policies to deal with climate change and protect the environment, while giving the Nordic region a competitive edge globally. These opportunities of the green digital transition are the object of this study.
