A New Asian Facility in Odense ZOO - Invitation to an Ideas Competition

Odense ZOO wishes to expand its current animal collection with the impressive Indian rhinoceros in combination with other animal species in a new facility. The main task of the competition is to illustrate the design of a new Asian facility at Odense ZOO, where high ambitions for sustainability and animal welfare are combined with a spectacular and surprising guest experience. Odense ZOO is therefore seeking consultants with expertise in zoo design, landscape architecture, and building design. Odense ZOO expects that submitted applications will clearly describe and document how the proposed team composition ensures the necessary professional competencies. In the application, the proposed team must demonstrate its professional qualifications and its ability to create innovative architectural solutions that prioritise both animal welfare and a strong visitor experience. Based on an overall assessment of the applications, Odense ZOO will select three teams to participate in the final competition round. References to completed projects and projects of a similar scale, as well as the teams’ approach to creating a holistic and site-specific experience, will be given weight in the selection of the three teams. It is now possible to submit an application for participation in the ideas competition.
